$150 for one wig styling seems quite a high price to me. I am sure you can work out something with the person you mentioned.

A professional theatrical hair stylist could help – they are used to handling acrylic and human hair wigs on a daily basis. If you do decide to go ahead then just wash the hair as usual before passing it on, preferably on a stand
Advertising is not allowed on TgR so all I can say is that I am sure you know of someone you have visited before for a make-up lesson many moons ago.
Hair salon people MAY be able to help but most would be used to human hair only and may not have the required wig – attachable hair stand for the styling. Good luck.

I saw your request for feedback here

In your page you only describe one type of SRS MtoF technique – the very much outdated penile inversion. I think you should also state that other techniques that offer much better outcomes are available as well. Penile inversion only plus, I can see is that the recovery time is small. The minuses are: vagina depth is totally related to penile length and the vagina ends up in a different postilion compared with born females (too high).

I think you should mention that cost is not necessarily a country basted criteria – costs can vary from surgeon to surgeon within a country – so I am not sure if your country based cost graph has much meaning. Also it is not always the case that higher cost means a better outcome. Clients should research carefully and listen to first hand experiences from clients from many surgery centers to make an informed choice. (Not 3rd hand hearsay) Usually a person only has one experience with one surgeon, so when some say ‘my surgeon is the best’ it is not a fact based statement, as they have no comparison experience. Researchers should also be aware that some clients think of their surgeon in spiritual terms and therefore their testimony could be non-factual as well.

In addition cost is not the only factor for the client to consider – other things such as the after care provided can be a huge determining factor. Some surgery centers will have the same surgical nurseries that were there with the client in surgery, visit daily to the client at their accommodation during recovery for up to 3 weeks. Whereas others will place the client on a plane and send them home 10 days after surgery.

I hope my comments may help you form your informational page

In Queensland sex IS displayed on the Driving License card. However due to the work of the Australian Transgender Support Association of QLD (ATSAQ) the sex type can be changed with a letter from a Psych stating the person is gender dysphoria. There is no fee for changing this information with Queensland Transport.

The other facts about being gender diverse in Thailand are somewhat more harsh:

There is still large discrimination for work placement in mainstream jobs and it is only usually the service industries that will employ gender diverse people in Thailand.

The authorities will NOT allow name nor gender change officially, irrelevant of any surgery or not. This means the Thai ID card that must be carried and all other official document will show the gender and name registered at birth.

There is no government assistance with mental or surgical areas.

Thailand (like Australia) does not recognize same sex unions.

These and other facts should be taken in account when comparing the situation of gender diverse people in different countries.

The 140 page pdf 2015 document “Gender identity and sexual orientation in Thailand” produced by the International Labour Organizations provides many more details.

Also the 66 page 2014 pdf “BEING LGBT IN ASIA: THAILAND COUNTRY REPORT” produced by the United Nations Development Programme has more information.

Well as many members may know – in the evenings I tend to be in the chat room. However in recent times I am the only one there of an evening.

A chat room does let you talk to people you don’t know, whereas IMs I presume would be with people you do know mostly perhaps.

I will continue to be in the chat room for as long as it remains – but I can also understand the reasoning in removing it as it is not being used much.

It is an interesting fact that chat rooms have almost disappeared on the Internet these days – do a search its true…

In Bangkok, Thailand I talked with a Thai national Gender Diverse person (not a ladyboy and not working in the sex industry) whose appearance was total feminine and who had FFS & SRS. She chose to wear clothing that made her stand out – I would call it fantasy type clothing- short semi see through skirts etc.

I asked her why did she wear such clothing as it distinguished her from other woman. Her reply was ” Oh the reason is that I feel am more beautiful than born females and I want to show that”.

So as you can see there are many varied thoughts in the Gender Diverse community.
