You always bring a smile to my face with your comments! I’ll have to run into them one day!

Totally agree with the sentiments here. Chameleons WA eventually shut down due to the lack of members. We are more able to get out and about now in the general population. The internet also means communication is so much easier and resources far easier to find. I MUST get to Transformal next year. The last 2 years I have been in Sydney in June so getting away twice in such a short period of time couldn’t be justified!. Thanks again Emma for such a great thread. I’m one of the old boilers in your age group. Not long now to the big 60!

Hi,
Having just had a holiday in the UK I can confirm that big eyebrows are all the rage. The girls must spend ages drawing them on! As for my own, I received a grooming kit for my birthday last year and use the length guide to keep them from getting too long and pluck the big grey ones. I would get the John Howard effect otherwise! -

It is set in the 20’s and the main male character cross-dresses to help catch a white slave trader I think. Stars included Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler-Moore and Carol Channing.

Some very wise heads here. I agree with all of the above and suspect “Bob” hasn’t had a lot of contact with any Transgender groups where advice would surely have been given. I’ve seen this same story myself and invariably it doesn’t end well. Well done for the support of his/her wife. Much needed.

Those pictures are amazing! Not all of us have a good foundation to work with! Does she have a cement mixer and trowel? She would need them for me!

Great topic. I came out to my 2nd wife before things got too serious, i.e. a proposal. She accepted me totally, though never appears in public with Phillippa. When my twins were about 8 we decided to tell them as it was getting difficult to hide it from them. They were fine with it and are both about to turn 20. I have no problem if I suddenly kark it. My wife has several contacts in the community here to offer the useful stuff to and dispose of the rest.
Sorry to hear of your loss Fay but glad to hear things are going well now.

Hi Girls, what a great read! Emma, you are so amusing. I really enjoy reading your posts.
I guess I am lucky in having a wife and kids who know Phillippa. My female attire and accessories aren’t hidden away, just take up too much room! I too have used the tell the truth method to answer those uncomfortable inquiries from friends and it never fails! Asked why I shave my legs I answer “because waxing hurts too much”. Never goes any further. I was once sharing a unit with a male friend who found some female clothing in one of my drawers while looking for a sewing kit. When asked whose are the clothes, I answered – mine! He just replied “your ex-wife’s i’ll bet” and that was the end of that. People really don’t wan’t to know.
If I had a Batgirl cave it would certainly have a make-up artist on staff! My car of choice is a bit girly which helps the image and I keep away from any areas or people who might “have a go”! -

One thing that made a huge difference to me (I am a bit of a passing obsessive) is hip and bottom padding. There are many types and prices, or you can DIY from youtube. Hip and bottom padding makes your dresses, skirts and pants fit correctly and wider hips balance out manly wide shoulders! If like me you like to indulge your love of 50’s clothing, you don’t need any under your petticoats! Keep the posts coming Emma!

Many of the things about FB are so true – even for the regular girls and guys out there. I too have progressed from “safe” social meetings to the big wide world. Life is too short to hide at home. Often the regular folks are interested in the whys and whats and spend ages asking me questions! The great thing about social media is the ease of contact. Find like minded people and meet up.
